For Volcanoes - playoff path is clear...and challenging

Your 2011 Salem-Keizer Volcanoes are still alive for the last playoff spot with five road games left to play.

Here is the path to the promised land:

1. The Volcanoes need to win at least 3 of the last 5 games against Nor East Division leaders Tri-City. Realistically, the Volcanoes need to go 4-1 this week. This much of their destiny they control.
2. Eugene must lose 3 more games this stretch than the Volcanoes- the Ems host a five-game set against Yakima. Realistically, Eugene needs to go 1-4 their last 5.
3. Everett must lose at least 1 more game than the Volcanoes; the AquaSox are at Spokane ther last 5.

Simply put - the Volcanoes are in the closest thing the regular season offers to the playoffs -- must win games.

To all Volcanoes players and coaches -- you've come a long way since game 18 of the 2011 season; we stand by you; go out - give it your best; keep the games fun and believe in yourselves. We believe in you!
