Panik's RBI Double secures AFL win

Joe Panik's  (Volcanoes '11) RBI double secured the Scottsdale Scorpions 2-0 victory over Surprise in AFL baseball on Thursday.

Joe made his only at-bat of the night count and in his double, raised his batting average to .307. The Scorpions improved to 12-16 on the season.

In news from the big club, while the six-time World Champion, Giants have said Eric Surkamp (Volcanoes '08) is most likely not pegged to be the team's fifth starter, Eric will have his chance to make his case in Spring Training.

Eric has a career Minor League record of 26-13 and a 2.85 ERA; getting his first shot in The Show last September, Eric went 2-2 with a 5.74 ERA.
