Volcanoes honor bravery

Volcanoes Nation | On September 11, 2012, a heavily armed group attacked the U.S. embassy in Benghazi and four Americans were killed during the attack - including U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens.  One of these proud Americans who made the "ultimate sacrifice" was Oregonian Tyronne Woods.

On July 3rd, at Volcanoes Stadium, the Volcanoes, along with representatives from Washington D.C. which includes United States Congressman Kurt Schrader, will participate in a very special pre-game ceremony to honor Tyronne Woods as part of the Volcanoes' Annual Patriotic Celebration.  Tyronne's mother, and members of the Woods' family will be in attendance.  Woods, a former Navy Seat was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for combat and valor in Iraq.

We now all have the opportunity to Thank, Honor and Salute his "ultimate sacrifice" for our Country.  The Volcanoes play the Boise Hawks with the game beginning at 6:35pm.  Pre-game ceremonies will start at 5:55pm.  A spectacular 4th of July Fireworks Show will follow the game.  Tickets are still available by calling  503-390-2225  or online at www.volcanoestickets.com

We are Volcanoes Nation -- 2013

There's that moment, the quiet between when the Volcanoes arrive and the new season starts. That glorious 36 hours when you talk with friends, loved ones, Volcanoes Stadium family about your plans for this season -- what the playoffs would look like, how winter never seemed to end. You share stories about the extra shifts at work you put in to buy your kids some tickets; the challenges you faced -- the journey seemed too hard, too long, too far. But you made it, and now it's your turn for a little fun.

You are Volcanoes Nation -- it's your time. Play ball!

2013 Host Families

Volcanoes Nation | you have again been wonderful opening up your homes to our upcoming Volcanoes, some of whom may very well be future World Champions. We are t-minus six days until Opening Day and have some very last spots to fill.

The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, a Class A affiliate of the 2012 World Series Champion San Francisco Giants, will arrive soon in Salem-Keizer. The franchise has a history of offering host family opportunities to local families. The Volcanoes will keep this tradition intact by living with families in the Salem-Keizer area this summer. This is an excellent opportunity to ‘live the life of a professional athlete’through an ‘adopted player’ for a few months.Team members will begin arriving on June 12th and will need housing for the period from June 15th to approximately September 3rd, depending on post-season play. Interested families should have a spare bedroom, live close to the Keizer area or on public transportation routes or have alternative transportation methods available for the players. Team members averaged age is 20 - 22 years old. The players do supply compensation to the families to help offset their room and board expenses. Families who would like more information on this exciting program should contact, Kari Naughton at (503) 393-2311 or cell 503-871-5716 or Jerry Howard at 390-2225 ext. 3002 or cell 503-779-4088
